STEPHANIE’S PRIORITIES
Kentuckians want legislators to address affordability. I will actively seek to file legislation that addresses rising costs of healthcare, housing, and everyday expenses.
When federal budget cuts hurt Kentucky families, we need to step in and make sure our neighbors can afford health insurance, rent, and food with budget support for Medicaid, housing assistance and creation of affordable housing, and food banks.
I believe in increasing protections for Kentucky workers and their families, but I also believe these protections can bolster our pro-business approach while growing good-paying jobs and keeping our best and brightest right here at home.
To address the housing shortage, I would support policies that help lower costs for builders and generate additional funds to support the creation of affordable housing.
I support a cost-of-living adjustment for our state retirees, who have not had such an increase in more than a decade.
Affordability

Oldham County Schools is such a vital part of our district. We are proud of our schools. When the state legislature fails to adjust per-pupil funding for inflation or refuse to fully-fund school transportation (which they are required to do by law), our schools have to absorb costs. Class sizes are rising, and schools struggle to recruit and retain teachers with competitive salaries. Our state legislature has advocated for voucher programs and tax incentives that divert money from our public schools. I will listen to my neighbors and support bold reinvestment in public education.
All children deserve a world-class education. We must start with at least adequately funding our public schools and move toward fully funding our schools.
I support increasing per pupil funding so that schools can increase pay for teachers and para-professionals to recruit and retain staff. Bold investment in education can lower student-to-teacher ratios because smaller class sizes benefit student learning.
The state must fulfil its obligation to fund school transportation at 100% so that districts can maximize funds for teaching and learning and relieve the local burden of raising property taxes to cover the shortfall.
I support legislation that makes teaching degrees more affordable, accessible, and desirable to attract educators from underrepresented backgrounds to consider teaching as a career - particularly in math and science.
Access to Care
As a breast cancer survivor, I know how important it is to have access to quality healthcare and life-saving medical tests and treatments.
We must reduce premium costs and protect funding for rural hospitals across Kentucky. Medicaid budgeting must be protected. I would investigate opportunities for medical debt relief so that patients do not accrue overwhelming debt from a medical issue.
I will support legislation to ensure that all Kentuckians can afford and have close proximity to preventive screening tests such as mammograms and other cancer screenings.
Data centers do not have our community's trust.
Since 2025, we have seen the results of what our current representatives have voted for: tax incentives for data centers. I will legislate by listening to the people of my district before passing legislation that would significantly impact their daily lives.
We must protect our community and environment from the pitfalls of large-scale data centers with legislation that prioritizes our people and natural resources first.
